The Erfan Niayesh
Subspecialty Group of Colorectal Surgery
with the most experienced surgeons in this field is ready to provide high-quality services to patients.
Colorectal Surgery
Colorectal surgery is one of the sub-specialty fields of general surgery that evaluates, diagnoses, and treats diseases or disorders of the colon, rectum, and anus. Colorectal surgeons have acquired knowledge and surgical skills over a span of 4-5 years, and after gaining several years of experience and obtaining a surgical specialty board, they take part in a sub-specialty training course in colorectal surgery. During this course, which lasts between 1,5 to 2 years, they receive additional and advanced training for the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal diseases.
Colorectal Disease
There are various types of colorectal diseases, and they are also very common. These diseases are classified into benign and malignant categories and are treated with a combination of surgical and non-surgical methods. The most common benign diseases in this field are called proctological diseases, including abscesses, fistulas, hemorrhoids, anal fissure, rectal prolapse, constipation, and defection.
Other common benign colorectal diseases include inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) and intestinal polyps that require careful treatment and medical care. In certain cases, these diseases have the potential to become malignant, so appropriate and prompt follow-up as well as high-quality medical care is extremely necessary.
Malignant diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus are among the most common malignancies around the world. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in men and women and the third leading cause of death worldwide. Unfortunately, the incidence of these malignancies around the world, including in our country, has increased in recent years, but fortunately, thanks to the advances in surgery and oncology, these cancers are being categorized among the most treatable cancers that can be cured
completely
